When creating my logo for my graphic design business, I wanted it to reflect both my identity and my creative journey. I incorporated my middle name, Jae, into the brand name by combining it with the initial of my first name, forming TJae Graphics, which felt like the perfect fit for my brand. The word “Graphics” clearly communicates my focus on graphic design. A key element of my logo is the butterfly, symbolizing the continuous growth of creativity—something I’ve experienced throughout my artistic and design journey. It also represents me personally, embodying transformation and artistic evolution. For the color palette, I chose a darker neutral blue and a light purple, blending professionalism with creativity to capture the essence of my brand.

Before finalizing my logo for TJae Graphics, the design had a few different elements. Initially, I chose a lighter pink background for the butterfly instead of light purple, thinking it would stand out more. However, as I refined the design, I decided to adjust the colors for a better balance. I also wanted to add more detail to the butterfly, giving it a more artistic and intricate look. One of the key changes I made was having one side of the wings fade away, symbolizing the evolving and limitless nature of creativity. Additionally, I thought incorporating a circle around the butterfly would create a more visually appealing and cohesive design, helping to frame the central element while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic.

When I showed my logo for feedback I got invaluable feedback from an expert, who said a logo should be easily readable on business cards, social media posts, or even on buildings.
To make it readable, I placed the butterfly in the middle. Since it was a light color on the background, I changed the butterfly’s light pink background to a purple color to make it pop.
The final results

I updated the logo for Tjae Graphics to enhance its visual impact and better represent my artistic approach as a graphic designer. I felt the butterfly needed more contrast, so I added additional colors to the wings, incorporating a dynamic paint splash effect to symbolize creativity and artistry. This not only makes the butterfly stand out but also visually reinforces the idea that my work blends graphic design with artistic expression. Additionally, I modified the letter “I” by making it a colored sphere, ensuring it has strong contrast and contributes to the overall balance of the design. These changes make the logo more vibrant, engaging, and reflective of my brand’s creative identity.
