I recently created a custom logo for my best friend Haylee Cheshire’s photography business, Photos.by.Haylee, with a focus on capturing her unique brand identity and creative vision. Haylee wanted a camera to be the central visual element—specifically one that matched the exact model she uses in her photography. I carefully designed the camera graphic to reflect the look and feel of her real camera, making the logo deeply personal and instantly recognizable. To ensure brand consistency, I used the same typography featured on her website, seamlessly aligning the logo with her existing visual identity. One of the standout features is the creative integration of a camera lens into the word “Photo,” where the “o” is replaced with a stylized lens—adding both meaning and visual interest. The chosen color palette of light pink and teal perfectly matched the soft, modern aesthetic of her brand and helped tie the entire design together.
Throughout the design process, I utilized a variety of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator for vector illustration, Photoshop for detail refinement, and After Effects for motion logo exploration. The final result is a polished, professional logo that authentically reflects Haylee’s passion for photography and enhances her brand presence across platforms.
Animation Video
After finalizing the logo, I brought it to life by creating an animated introduction using Adobe After Affects. The goal was to craft an engaging and memorable animation that would immediately capture the attention of Haylee’s audience and showcase her talent as a photographer. At Haylee’s request, we began the animation with the camera graphic rolling into the frame, setting a dynamic tone right from the start. We then added a smooth transition where the camera lens opens and emits a flash—symbolizing the moment a photo is captured. This flash seamlessly transitions into a backdrop featuring a rotating selection of Haylee’s own photography, with her logo remaining centered as a focal point. The result is a compelling visual introduction that highlights her creative work and adds a professional, cinematic touch to her brand presentation.
