Capet Crepes

  • by

Capet Crepes is a food truck design I created, inspired by the rich history and romance of France. The name “Capet” comes from the royal Capetian family of France, which is why I incorporated a crown into the design, symbolizing elegance and tradition. Since crepes were first made in France, it felt fitting to honor their origins through the branding. For the logo, I used heart-shaped elements to represent strawberries, tying into the sweet and savory options available on the menu. The heart also symbolizes love, much like how France is known as the city of romance.

Capet Crepes offers a variety of crepes, including a special section where customers can customize their own, making the experience both personal and delicious. The overall design blends French heritage with a warm, inviting feel, perfectly capturing the essence of this unique food truck.

The first design for Capet Crepes featured the text front and center, with a crepe illustration placed to the side and a crown positioned on the letter “C” to emphasize the royal theme. While this layout highlighted the name, feedback suggested that integrating the text with the crepe itself would create a stronger visual connection to the brand’s identity. Taking this into consideration, I reworked the design by placing the name directly on the crepe, along with the crown, reinforcing the concept of “Royal Crepes.” This adjustment not only made the logo more cohesive but also enhanced its storytelling, visually tying together the themes of French heritage, indulgence, and elegance in a way that immediately captures attention.

For my Capet Crepes loyalty cards, I designed symmetrical lines and heart motifs to complement the theme seamlessly. I thought this would be a fun way for customers to get stamps for one free crepe of their choice.

For the design of the Capet Crepes food truck, I carefully selected a color palette of pink, light pink, yellow, and green to create a warm and inviting aesthetic. I chose a dark pink as the backdrop to allow the lighter pink elements to stand out, giving the truck a soft yet eye-catching contrast. The yellow accents add a touch of brightness, symbolizing warmth and happiness, while the greens provide a fresh, natural feel, complementing the ingredients used in the crepes. The combination of colors and details ensures that Capet Crepes is not only visually appealing but also a recognizable and memorable food truck on the streets.

For Capet Crêpes, I designed a cozy, user-friendly mobile app that captures the charm of a French street café while making it easy to browse the menu, place orders, and track the food truck in real time. With clean typography, warm colors, playful icons, and integrated rewards, the design combines visual storytelling with seamless functionality to create a delightful digital experience.
